HipMark Privacy Policy

How HipMark handles local documents, file permissions, remote images, and App Store purchases.

Last updated: 2026-11-02

Local documents

The HipMark Mac app reads, renders, edits, and saves Markdown document content on your Mac. It does not upload document content to developer servers. No HipMark account is required. The app does not include advertising or user-tracking SDKs.

File access and widgets

HipMark accesses files you select, open from Finder, or previously authorize through file bookmarks. Notes, daily notes, to-dos, and local summaries used by widgets remain on your Mac. You can manage your files in the app or Finder.

Remote images

Images referenced by remote URLs load from the corresponding image servers. Those servers receive the image URL, your IP address, and necessary network information. HipMark does not send a document Referer, upload the full document, or proxy images through developer servers. Local images are read locally.

App Store purchases

One-time Pro purchases and purchase restoration use Apple App Store / StoreKit. HipMark uses the entitlement state returned by the system to unlock features. Apple handles purchase information under its own privacy policy.

Website and support email

This website provides product information, guides, and external store links. Language and appearance preferences may be stored in your browser. The hosting service may process request information, such as IP addresses, requested paths, and browser information, to deliver the website and diagnose problems. Website requests are separate from document processing in the app.

If you email support, we receive the email address and content you choose to send and use them to respond. Do not send unnecessary private documents or sensitive information. Contact the address below for requests to access or delete support correspondence.
